Tunisians will now have to hold a runoff election after candidates failed to receive an outright majority in the presidential elections held this past weekend. It is now reported that the runoff elections will be held on the 29th of September. These elections come after the death of the country’s first democratically elected President Beji Caid Essebsi. Turnout was at a low 45%, despite attempts made to call for young people in Tunisia to vote.
