Description

The African Union and the New Partnership for Africa’s Development is currently hosting the 11th Partnership Platform of the Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Program in Johannesburg. The theme of this forum is “Walking the Talk”. This is an Africa-led initiative meant to eliminate hunger and reduce poverty. To do this, African governments have agreed to increase public investment in agriculture by a minimum of 10 percent of their national budgets to raise agricultural productivity by at least 6 percent per annum. To help us discuss this we are now joined on the line by:

Asatu Jalou : NEPAD: Head of Programme Development

Dr Nalishebo Meebelo: Deputy Co-ordinator of the Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Program at the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA)
