The annual World Economic Forum (WEF) kicks off today, in Davos Switzerland and will bring together country leaders, and those from business, government, international organizations to discuss the global economy. This year’s theme is said to be “The New Global Context” which will focus on the economic, political, economic and technological changes that the world is experiencing. Before its meeting (WEF) published 14 measures to tackle global economy, which include minimum wages, trade union membership and investment in the public sector. The international confederation, Oxfam, also released a report which puts those gathering at the forum under pressure. The Oxfam report shows that by next year one percent of the world’s population will be wealthier than the other 99%. Also up to debate has been the issue of the effectiveness of the World Economic Forum.
