Description

Tomorrow Zimbabweans are planning to take part in anti-government protests to respond against the arrest of a journalist Hopewell Chin’ono and a politician Jacob Ngarivhume. The protests supported by the country’s civic groups is said to represent a public outcry against Zimbabwe’s deepening economic crisis and the high-level corruption alleged to taking place in the Zanu-PF led government. Zimbabwean government was over the weekend forced to explain the arrest of two corruption critics after the United Nations Human Rights office raised concern. While government insists the arrest of journalist, Hopewell Chin'ono and politician Jacob Ngarivhume was informed by their incitement of citizens to revolt, the world feels otherwise.
