Zimbabwe has spoken and has renewed its mandate to its ZanuPF President Emmerson Mnagagwa who won the election by 50.8% of the vote against his close contender Nelson Chamisa of the MDC who only got 44.3 of the vote. The opposition has been crying foul after the election results were announced saying there were some irregularities during the vote counting. While Election Day was peaceful, protests rocked the capital Harare over the delay in announcing the poll results and six people were killed in an army crackdown against protesters.
