Description

Time for us to zoom into our last segment where we look at a particular issue in a country. Today we are zooming into the Democratic Republic of Congo. The DRC is facing one of the longest-standing and most complex humanitarian crises in the world. The country is simultaneously experiencing armed conflicts, food insecurity and recurring epidemics, including cholera, measles and the second-largest Ebola outbreak globally. Insecurity has led to large-scale forced displacement. The humanitarian situation is especially dire in the provinces of North and South Kivu, Ituri, Kasaï, Kasaï-Central, and Tanganyika. Let’s talk to Nixon Tasakana from Channel Africa’s KiSwahili desk and he joins me in studio now.
