Executive Committee Member at the South African Reward Association (SARA), Laurence Grubb says should government be allowed to make decision on the remunerations of executives this could have unintended consequences. Grubb further says shareholders are the ones who have invested their money in a company and it is they who should be controlling how its executives are rewarded.
