Members of the South African Police Services have been testifying before the Moerane commission today. Police have been accused of not doing much to prevent the killings or to arrest suspects implicated in political killings in KwaZulu Natal. Witnesses who have been testifying say they do not trust the police because some allegedly work with the hitmen and go as far as to supply them with guns. Meanwhile, Acting KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner Major-General Bhekinkosi Langa has told the commission that violence at hostels has sometimes been sparked by arguments over bed space. Our reporter Nonkululeko Hlophe is at the hearings.
