In this episode, we begin by reflecting on our church covenant—a covenant we joyfully affirm together as members of Christ's body. At the very outset, the covenant draws our attention to the ordinances, those sacred and visible signs given by Christ to His church: baptism and the Lord's Supper. These are not empty rituals, but God-ordained means by which the gospel is proclaimed, the church is identified, and believers are nourished in faith. Since we revisit our covenant at every members meeting, and having just recently gathered as together as a church family, now is a fitting time to begin the conversation over this topic. We pray this multi-episode conversation will help us all walk more faithfully in the covenant we have made together as a church.
