Hot on the success of the “Age Of Northern Soul” CD album, released earlier this year, Outta Sight present volume 2 in the new R&B series featuring more new-to-CD rarities.
The album opens with a killer-thriller courtesy of Big Maybelle, a larger than life figure familiar to all Northern Soul fans. Originally released in 1954 this dark and moody minor-key dancer sets the scene for our club soul playlist.
Highlights include Danny Owens’ finger poppin’ CD debut “You’re A Little Too Late”; H B Barnum’s big city stroller “How Many More Times”; Lula Reed’s obscure “Puddentane”; Little Jimmy Griffin’s mod/soul scorcher “If Things Don’t Change” and Sidney Barnes’ first 45, the wonderfully atmospheric “Wait”.
Get it while it’s hot!
