Peter is joined by guests Amy Zaslansky founder of The Book Fairies and Executive Director Eileen Minogue. The Book Fairies is a 501(c)(3) not-for profit organization headquartered in Freeport, N.Y. that collects reading materials for communities in need throughout metropolitan New York. The reading materials help to foster literacy, academic success and offer a respite from personal struggles, all while nurturing a love of reading across all age groups.
The Book Fairies was founded by Amy in 2012, starting out of her home's garage. Through Amy's hard work and passion for The Book Fairies' mission, she has been able to expand operations to a generously gifted warehouse space in Freeport and has grown distribution from 35,000 in her first year to over 600,000 in 2019. They are now at over two million books donated!
