Bernard Baynes, retired teacher, says he knew since he was young that teaching was his calling. He began teaching soon after arriving in Montreal from St. Vincent and the Grenadines. He developed a reputation as knowing how to handle kids who liked to challenge authority and, in the end, became a mentor for many of his students. But it wasn’t without challenges.
