In this very special episode of Blissful Connections, I honor the life and legacy of my grandfather, Jack Benson Corey, who passed away three years ago today at the age of 102. His obituary described his journey as “a life of pure perfection,” and tonight we remember him as more than a date on the calendar — but as a man whose legacy still shapes us.
Papa Jack’s story is one of resilience and faith. From delivering newspapers during the Great Depression, to serving in the Navy in World War II, to building an international business with Corey Pipe Supply, and even achieving a Guinness World Record as the oldest ordained minister, his life left a mark on everyone around him.
I was joined by family members who shared memories, reflections, and even stories of grief that continue to evolve with time. We replayed a portion of his and my grandmother’s beautiful 1992 wedding ceremony in Sun Valley, Idaho, and shared in both the joy and the bittersweet reality of remembrance.
This episode is both personal and universal: it’s about Papa Jack, yes, but it’s also about all of us — the loved ones we remember, the legacies they leave, and the way we carry them forward.
