Description

Hello beautiful people! In today's episode, I interview the wonderful Michelle Wang, host of CKUT's "Panacea" podcast that focuses on mental health. This interview marks the beginning of the "identity" segment on Joy, which focuses on how different identities, such as age, race, and sexuality, impact the ways that people seek out and experience joy. We discuss the difficulties of growing up as an immigrant and wanting to assimilate, the model minority myth, the conversion of mental states into somatic symptoms, the misconception of happiness as a forever state, and more! I hope you have a wonderful weekend, and tune in every Friday at 12pm for more!
