This week Airen Maye travels to New Orleans to chat with the very talented Esther Rose.
Esther Rose sings songs about love, landscape, living life bravely, and starting over.
She started a band in 2015, working out arrangements for songs she wrote while riding her bike to work in the French Quarter and adventuring though New Mexico summers.
Rose is inspired by the honest writing and soaring melodies of American greats such as Hank Williams Sr. and Joni Mitchell, and the community of contemporary writers and musicians aground her New Orleans neighborhood.
Airen and Esther discuss her unique "classic country" style, how New Orleans has influenced her music, and the power of sudden inspiration.
