STEVE COULTER grew up in South America and Cleveland and graduated from the North Carolina School of the Arts. As an actor, his film and television appearances include the recent HBO film, Paterno, directed by Barry Levinson and also Levinson’s The Wizard of Lies, recurring roles in House of Cards, Brockmire, and as Reg Monroe on The Walking Dead. He appeared opposite Al Pacino this past year in Hangman, and later this year appears in the Kevin Costner series, Yellowstone, and with Ryan Gosling in First Man, directed by La La Land’s director, Damien Chazelle.
He was the head writer and executive story editor for both of Tyler Perry’s television series, House of Payne and Meet the Browns, where he supervised over 100 episodes and won two consecutive NAACP IMAGE Awards for Best Comedy Series. He wrote and directed the award-winning short film, The Etiquette Man, selected by the Sundance Channel and the National Gallery of Art in Washington DC. His screenplay, Keesha’s House, won the $100,000 Southeastern Media Award.
