What is the PIT?
As we begin this journey it's important to define what I mean when I use this term.
I remember one night about 12 years ago lying in my bed staring at the ceiling and feeling the acid of my anger burning in my stomach. In that moment I knew that if I did not fix what was eating me up inside, I would have cancer in 5-10 years.
As I began the descent into my darkness to try to find some healing and relief, I started to see that all my CURRENT TRIGGERS were TIED to my PAST EXPERIENCES, in particular the experiences that contained negative feelings.
These negative feelings from past experiences - feelings of anger, blame, guilt, shame, and fear - ultimately lead to a set of self-limiting beliefs and a lens through which we see the world. This is our PIT.
Find a journal for this journey and begin to name what is in your pit. Start with the things in your life that trigger you today - write them down and describe how they make you feel.
