We have been taught throughout our lives - men especially - that it's not ok to feel…that feeling in somehow bad or weak. So we SUPPRESS our feelings and seek out ways to numb the internalized pain, to SEDATE.
Our culture has become a CULTURE OF SEDATION, with the internet and social media giving us access to mechanisms of sedation on a level never before seen in human history.
Whether it's drinking, drugs, porn, Facebook, Instagram, Netflix, the news, working out, work etc. if you are a human being you have developed patterns of sedation behavior.
As we begin the DESCENT INTO THE PIT, it's time to put in check the survival part of our brain that has kept us in in the cycle of suppression and sedation.
It's time to STOP the cycle that has us stuck, and allow ourselves to START TO FEEL.
