Forget about throwing more turf on that fire, watching Saturday's Leinster hurling final should have heated up houses the length and breadth of the island.

Kilkenny's demise has been spoken of but this weekend Richie Hogan was redeemed in Croke Park - a moment of pure magic propelling Brian Cody's Cats into an All-Ireland semi-final and talk of a title.

Munster champions Limerick are into the final four as well, but only after Waterford put them to the pin of their collar in a gripping provincial final while in the football, Cavan doubled down on their place as the game's new comeback kings while Kildare capitulated and Donegal and Dublin steamrolled onwards.

And, whisper it... Mayo for Sam?

This morning Marc and Shane run the rule over all of this weekend's action and discuss the unique attributes a team will need to win this winter Championship.
