What about women?
Christians are called to follow Jesus as king in every area of their lives. This means openness to having every aspect of our lives torn down and rebuilt around the resurrection of Jesus the king. Thankfully Jesus has not left us alone on this massive project of transformation, but has given us, among other things, a support structure of elders and deacons to nurture and empower us.
Well, what about women? What role do women play in this empowering support structure? Can women hold the office of elder? What about the office of deacon?
This Sunday I hope to answer these questions from the scripture and paint a picture of the full shepherding team we are working to build at Redeemer that includes women as a critical part.
I can’t wait to worship together this Sunday.
