Compassion begins by suffering with those who suffer and weeping with those who weep. But once you open your mouth, what message are you supposed to say? What are you supposed to say in the tricky context where the individual’s suffering is their own fault?
This Sunday we are continuing our summer series through the book of Jonah on the topic of compassion. In chapter 3 Jonah finally arrives in the city of Nineveh. It is the moment when he opens his mouth and preaches a message of compassion, a message that is one of repentance, but also one of great hope.
I look forward to worshiping with you all on Sunday!
