A funny thing happens when we want something really bad.
When we want something really bad we often become consumed and even defined by our wanting. In those moments it is very hard for us to think of other things. Wanting things can be sneaky. They can slowly creep up on us and then before we know it we have a hard time differentiating ourselves from what we want.
This upcoming Sunday is the Second Sunday of Advent. As we continue preparing for Christmas, we will proceed with our Advent series on the themes of Wanting & Waiting, by observing how Israel during their Exodus became consumed by wanting. Spend 10 minutes reading Exodus 16 and ask yourself, what did Israel want and how did they wait? Then reflect on the abundance of generosity that God showers on Israel and how that reshapes their wanting and waiting.
