This Sunday, for our final sermon in Genesis, we will consider Joseph’s famous words in Gen 50:20, “you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good…”
Upon the death of Israel, Joseph’s brothers were apprehensive about their standing with Joseph—had he really forgiven them for their betrayal? What Joseph says leads to a beautiful reconciliation with his family.
These words are true as we move beyond Genesis as well. God means to do good, his purpose is to bring forgiveness, reconciliation, and blessing to the world.
