Genesis is the book of beginnings. It sets the stage for the grand story of Scripture, and, even from the start, it prepares us for what is to come. This week Jacob prophetically blesses his sons, and in his blessing to Judah we enjoy a glimpse of what will be. These are the things into which angels long to look (1 Peter 1:12), a prophetic picture of the Christ and his kingdom.
