We love to receive blessings from Jesus, but not so much warnings.
Jesus began his Sermon on the Mount with a list of blessings, and he concludes it with four back-to-back warnings.
If we’re honest, these words from Jesus are scary. It’s a section we sometimes skip over because it makes us feel uncomfortable. However, instead of skipping over it, we’ll dive deep into it and embrace those hard feelings.
To prepare for Sunday, read Matthew 7:13-29 and meditate on how Jesus’ conclusion to his sermon makes you feel, and what hard choices he is asking you to make.
