Go buy your Christmas tree. Start decorating your homes. Turn up those speakers and begin listening to your favorite Christmas carols.
This Sunday is the first Sunday of Advent, a season of four weeks leading up to Christmas. A season which prepares us for the great joy we will experience on Christmas.
This Advent we will prepare for Christmas by studying the themes of Wanting and Waiting in four biblical characters/stories. We will see where God reshapes what they want and how they wait. This Sunday we will start by looking at the wanting and waiting of Adam and Eve in Genesis 3:1-13. Come prepared to hear not only how Adam and Eve wanted the wrong things and couldn’t wait properly, but also how God invited them and invites us into deeper and restored communion with him. And how through Advent and Christmas we are encouraged to know and experience Jesus Christ as Emmanuel, God with us.
Please also make it a point to stop at the book table this Sunday. We will have Advent & Christmas guides, books, and devotionals for adults, kids, and families.
