STOP THE SHOW

This week, Pastor Jermaine kicked off the year with a sermon out of Matthew 23:13-28.

He spoke about hypocrisy.

In this passage Jesus tells the Pharisees that it is possible to have the appearance of being alive, but really be in a state of death and decay inside. People who look alive, but are dying.

We need to care more about being alive, than having the appearance of being alive. Excellence is great, but it should never trump intimacy.

We must all understand that we are lacking without Jesus. Many of us are trying to be like Christ without Christ. It’s religious acting and we need to stop the show.

The truth us if we are not abiding and remaining, we are dying.

We need to abide in Christ, to have a lasting and persistent faith. We need to stand.

It’s not our job to make ourselves look alive, it’s our job to seek and abide. If you get proximity to Jesus right, everything else with be right.
