Legalism was robbing the church in Colosse of its power. Paul said that these self-imposed religious rules lack any value in restraining sensual indulgence (Colossians 2:23). Now in Colossians chapter 3 Paul encourages the people to walk in the riches God has for us, taking off the old carnal way of living and resetting our lives to the kingdom above.
