There is an old story in the Jewish Talmud about a man planting a carob nut that wouldn't produce for 70 years. When asked why he was planting it, the man said, "I am planting it for my grandchildren." The Bible calls us to use our resources, not for ourselves, but for those that come after us. How do we use our resources in a productive way for the betterment of others who follow us?
