Courage can be fickle. It can emerge quickly and go away just as fast. Peter was the only disciple to walk on Water, but he had to trust Jesus would see him through. Moreso, Peter was also the only one who recognized Jesus by being called out into the water. The rest only believed when the storm calmed.
