“Bear one another’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” Galatians 6:2
Last week we learned what it means to love as Christ loves. We learned that to really understand what love looks like, what love does, how love acts, we must look to Christ and respond as Christ responds. We love because He loved – and oh, how he loved us and loves us!
This good news of the gospel empowers us, to not only love those who are unlovely, but it moves us beyond mere feelings and into acts of service and action for others. Come discover how it is that the bombshell truth of the gospel transforms us, our churches, and communities, motivating us to bear the burdens of others because Christ bore ours. Come and learn how the gospel causes us to serve others from a place of security and strength – because we have been forgiven and accepted. We have been saved to serve. We now live to love, and this love causes us to be like our Lord who says, “Come to me all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and My burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28-30)
Will you let him come along side of you and shoulder your burdens today? He will if you let him. And when he lifts yours, you will in turn be empowered to lift the burdens of others.
Join us this week for Week 3 of our Genius of One Another series as we learn another facet of what it means to “fulfill the law of Christ.”
