Dear Family and Friends,
We continue our series on the book of Judges this Sunday, looking at the powerful story of Deborah, a remarkable leader God raised up who was not just a judge, but a prophet and a woman. Way back around 1200 BC, God was sending a powerful message when He chose a woman to serve in a position of national leadership. We’ll meet a colorful cast of characters – Deborah, Barak, Sisera, Jael, and Heber. What can we learn from them? What does the Bible teach us about God and women? How does God view the abuse of women? What kind of people does God use to accomplish His purposes? We will answer these questions and more as we discover God’s vision for the kind of kingdom He wants to build on earth. I am dedicating this weekend’s message to all the women in our community. Men, bring your wives, sisters, daughters and friends as we listen and learn from the lives of two remarkable women in Judges 4 & 5.
