Jesus gives some strong life advice in Matthew when He says:
“If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake and the gospel’s will save it. For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his life?” Matthew 16:24-26

It is possible to waste your life. Few things make me tremble more than the possibility of taking this one time gift of life and wasting it. I am reminded of an old plaque that says: “Only one life, ’twill soon be past, only what’s done for Christ will last.” What are you going to do with the one life you’ve been given? Will your life be a life filled with moments of eternal significance or will it be a life lived balancing between fear and comfort? When you reflect back on your life what will be your legacy? Will it last beyond this life? Join me this Sunday as we look at how not to waste your life as you will be presented with real and meaningful ways to not let that happen and how you can live a life that matters. The world needs the gifts and the hope in Christ that you can bring. In a world living in desperation, we as Christians have the hope that this world so desperately needs, the hope that only Jesus can bring. There are precious few years in our one life on earth. How are you going to live it? YOU DON'T WANT TO WASTE YOUR LIFE. Then, imagine we as a community living our lives out together not wasting years but living them unified in Christ, living them together to the fullest. That would change everything!
