This Saturday night, 7 pm, we kick-off our Summer at the Movies series; featuring The Chosen. Each Sunday morning, between now and August 20th, we will take an episode, dive into the world behind the Biblical text, its primary Biblical characters, and the text itself. I believe The Chosen helps to put skin on the Bible characters, allowing us to enter their world, and seeing that Jesus is just as relevant today as He was then. It gets us in touch with our own story, if we permit it to do so.
Our Saturday launch kicks off with episodes 2 & 3. Take time to watch episode 1 at home (warning parents, E-1 can be a little scary for some).
Join me this weekend as I recap episode 1 (kid-friendly), I Have Called You By Name, and then launch us into episode 2, Shabbat, contrasting the characters of Nicodemus and Mary Magdalene, in light of the question: Fence-sitter or Follower?
