This Sunday marks the beginning of Holy Week. It’s Palm Sunday, also known as Passion Sunday. About 2,000 years ago, Jesus was welcomed into Jerusalem as the prophesied, expected King. The people were shouting “Hosanna!” as Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a donkey. However, these shouts of praise would eventually turn into shouts of “crucify him!” on Good Friday. Yet this was all part of God’s plan. There was a different battle that this King riding on a donkey came to fight.
