Jesus…yes. Almost everyone likes Jesus even if they don’t like the church. A majority of Americans claim to “believe in” or “follow” Jesus. But I have learned to ask in various ways: which Jesus? My Mormon or Jehovah’s Witness friends have a very different Jesus than I do. The t-shirts depicting the “NRA Jesus” holding assault rifles on each hip seems a far cry from the Jesus of Scripture. In defense of their political ideology, we have political cartoons demeaning the “Republican Jesus” or the “Democrat Jesus.” Truth is, we all tend to love some parts of Jesus and His teachings and dodge others—according to our preferences. Here is the question for me, for all of us: Is the Jesus of Scripture transforming me more and more into His image—or am I conforming Him into my image? Join me for a new series on “Jesus—Yes!
