Description

This week we continue our Philippians series - following up on last week's stirring description of greatness according to Christ. Philippians 2:5-11 is clearly the climax of the letter - really of New Testament theology as a whole. We'll look at the rest of chapter 2 and Paul's description of what it looks like to live in light of the Christ Hymn. We'll see that Paul envisions lives that mirror Christ's life - lives of sacrificial service, lives of love and joy, lives that shine and bring light to others. In a dark and crooked world, Paul envisions Christians living in communities that are bright little points of light, beacons of hope and comfort. That vision is just as much our call today as it was in Philippi.

We'll also be celebrating Richard and Sallie Fredericks, the founding couple of Damascus Road Community Church. We will share the story of how DRCC came to be, and the vision that continues to guide and radiate out the love of Christ into our community. Whether you're new or been around a long time, you won't want to miss the opportunity to celebrate this wonderful couple.
