Description

Sometimes God calls us into amazing stretches with Him; stretches where He demonstrates great power and we get to experience big victories and the wonderful feeling of success. Those high heights, however, are often preceded by times of great testing or trial or difficulty that God needs to bring us through before we’re ready for the wins.

Glory follows sacrifice.

This week we will look at the story of Gideon – an Old Testament figure that is praised in Hebrews 11 for his great faith in God. Gideon trusted God to carry him to victory in battle, even after God whittled his vast army of 32,000 men down to a meager group of 300 soldiers. Gideon experienced the real and tangible deliverance of God, he experienced victory upon victory, he experienced great wealth as a result of the victories – but before all that, God called him to a far more difficult display of courage and trust. Join us this week as we explore the terrifying act that God called Gideon to before he could trust him to lead the nation and experience success.
