We continue our series on Jesus by looking at one of the most memorable and powerful scenes from the gospel accounts of Jesus. Jesus takes his friends for a walk and reveals something about Himself that changes the trajectory of their lives. His one question at the intersection of social, economic, and religious power structures brings into focus the response of ultimate allegiance each one of us is called to give. We will either give it to Jesus (earth’s only rightful and righteous King) or to someone or something else. And that allegiance has the power to change the trajectory of our lives like it did for the disciples.
