The Christian life is a spiritual battle. In Ephesians 6, the apostle Paul exhorts the church in Ephesus to withstand the attacks of the enemy and the spiritual hosts of wickedness. Believers are to be strong in the Lord (Ephesians 6:10) and put on the whole armor of God (Ephesians 6:11) to stand against Satan's schemes. Our battle is spiritual, not physical (Ephesians 6:12). This armor allows believers to stand firm in the faith (Ephesians 6:13).
Christians must equip themselves with the whole armor of God. This armor includes such elements as truth, righteousness, the gospel, faith, salvation, and the Word of God.
