Pharaoh has been given time to humble himself before the Lord, repent, and obey, however he will not do so. As a result, judgment has been prescribed for the nation of Egypt. Through a series of plagues, God will show Himself to be just, righteous, and the one and only God. Join us for session eleven as we bear witness to the destruction caused by an unrepentant heart, while also seeing God’s character revealed through these trials.

Discussion Questions:
1. Several times Pharaoh is warned a plague is going to take place before it actually happens, however, we see him take no action to avert it. What do you think this reveals about the condition of his heart?
2. Can you think of a time you were warned/convicted of sin and ignored the warning from God? What happened?
3. 2 Peter 3:9 says that God is patient with us, “wishing for all to come to repentance.” How do you see God’s patience demonstrated even toward Pharaoh and the Egyptians?
4. Why is partial obedience still disobedience? Why do we give ourselves passes to only partially follow the Lord instead of fully obeying Him? To what does God compare these sins in 1 Samuel 15:22-23?
5. How are the Israelites protected as God inflicts plagues on Egypt? How is this a parallel to the protection we have through Christ from the wrath of God to come? (See John 5:24)
