After teaching us how to deal with past sin (“Forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors”), Jesus then shows us how to pray regarding future sin (“Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil”). He tells us to ask God for His power to resist sin and the enticements of the devil. Jesus offers himself as our help. Sin is strong, but Jesus is stronger.
