Description

Romans 6 describes our true position in Christ. We have a new nature and new identity as children of God. Sin is no longer our slave master. We have a new master, Jesus Christ. But sin still plagues us because we are subject to old habit patterns and the cry of our flesh that will not easily give up. Our sin nature has been dealt a mortal blow, but as one writer said “A wounded animal is more dangerous than a contented one.” Romans 7 is a description of Paul’s continual battle against the corruption of his flesh.
