The Way of Christ: Rest and Solitude
Exodus 23:12, Deuteronomy 5:12-14, Mark 2:27, 1 Kings 19:1-18
Even mighty servants of God get tired, depressed, and disoriented.
Elijah was exhausted and needed rest.
Elijah wanted to die.
Elijah forgot what Obadiah told him about other prophets that were alive and well. 1 Kings 18:13
God ministered to Elijah in a solitary place and supernaturally restored vision, purpose, and direction in his life. Luke 5:16
Elijah recognized God’s gentle whisper.
There is rest in submission to God’s will.
