Many of the psalms are prayers sung to God. Psalm 5 is a believer’s prayer for the wicked. It is not a prayer asking God to grant the wicked repentance but a plea for God to judge the wicked. What are we to think of such a prayer? Can we who were wicked, who still struggle with sin, but have been declared righteous by God’s grace through faith in Jesus Christ pray such a prayer? We will consider these things when we gather on Sunday to worship our Holy God.
