The Pharisees wanted Jesus to tell them when the Kingdom of God would come. It was a good question. After all, Jesus does teach us to pray for the kingdom to come. Rather than respond with a specific date Jesus explains how God’s Kingdom will come and what must happen first. Jesus’ words in this passage can provide much help to those who trust in him and are a sobering warning for those who don’t.
