You are blessed so you can be a blessing! This weekend Pastor Steve concluded our 23 AND ME series with an encouragement to live generously.
2 Corinthians 9:10
For God is the one who provides seed for the farmer and then bread to eat. In the same way, God will provide and increase your resources and then produce a great harvest of generosity in you.
1) Generosity is God’s idea.
Every good thing we enjoy is a gift from our heavenly Father. He always takes the initiative in giving!
2) We are managers, not owners.
If I recognize that I don’t own what I am entrusted, I can find joy in managing and cultivating it to flourishing.
3) Generous giving is an antidote to me-first living.
God knows that we struggle with giving, so he tells us to test him in our obedience. See if he won’t bless you when you give!
4) Generosity outlives me.
God has a better plan for our resources than we do. Let him build a legacy as you obey him in generosity.
5) We are blessed to be a blessing.
Jesus set the example for us by laying down his life for our sake. We are called to follow him in that same sacrificial love toward others!
2 Corinthians 8:9
For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich.
