There is a hole in the heart of humanity that is meant to be filled by Jesus! This weekend Pastor Joaquin continued our 23 AND ME series with a message titled, ROOM FOR ONE.
Genesis 29:34
Again she conceived and bore a son, and said, “Now this time my husband will be attached to me, because I have borne him three sons." Therefore his name was called Levi.
1) Fill yourself with the Word of God
Don’t live your life on empty! Your flesh will seize the opportunity to fulfill its desires when you're at your weakest. God's word is the nourishment your soul needs.
2) Walk by the Spirit, not the flesh.
The temptation to do what WE want without seeking what the Holy Spirit is asking of us, is great. Galatians explains why this tug of war is at work.
Galatians 5:16-17
But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do.
3) Follow the Word. Don’t follow your heart.
The world advises us to follow our hearts, but the scriptures teach that our hearts are deceitful and can lead us astray.
Jeremiah 17:9
The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it?
Our emotions are swayed by circumstance, but God's instruction is to follow His Word that never changes.
4) Fulfillment and satisfaction are only found in Jesus.
There is only one person who can satisfy our souls, because in that God shaped space in our hearts, there is room for just One. King Jesus is the only One who can satisfy and the only One who died to be the Savior you need.
