Scripture: Genesis 2:4-25
Genesis chapter 2 takes an in-depth and closer look at God’s work concerning mankind. The author of Genesis intentionally refocused on the 6th day of creation because he wanted to highlight three things: the special creation – humankind, the special place – Garden of Eden, and the special union – marriage.

1. Value human life above all other creation. (Gen. 2L4-7, 21-22; 1:26-27)
• God uniquely and carefully created us.
• God created us in His own image.

2. Trust and obey God above all else. (Gen. 2:8-17; cf. Rev. 21; 22:1-5)
• God always wanted us to live in a perfect home with Him.
• God will one day restore that special place of pleasure and delight.

3. Display God’s glory in your marriage. (Gen. 2:18-25; cf. Eph. 5:31-32)
• God, not us, performs the one-flesh union between a man and a woman.
• God designed marriage to mirror Christ’s love for the church.
