3 Spiritual Statuses (v.12-14)
a. You are forgiven
b. You know God
c. You have overcome the evil one

The Call:
1. Reject the World (v.15-17)
• Lusts of the flesh refers to what we do, ie. passions
• Lusts of the eyes refers to what we have, ie. possessions
• Pride of LIfe refers to who we are, ie.position
• We are to insulate - not isolate.
2. Remain in Jesus (v. 18-27)
• We are crucified to the world
• We let God shape our values
• Our true home is with God
